Tid Bits & Things

Show your support of PCA through a specialized MO license plate

We are currently in the process of commissioning a PCA specialty plate in theState of Missouri. The design, as seen here, will be submitted to the statefor approval. In order for the plate to be considered by the state, we must submita list of 200 names of members in Missouri who would be willing to purchase thespecialty plates. So far we have collected only about 25% of the number we needto apply for the specialty plates. The state requires that the list be submitted withour application by June 30, 2008 in order to be considered during the 2009legislative session. The plates, if approved, will be available in late 2009. There is
a $5,000 application fee required by the state so we will require a $25 one time feeper set of plates, payable to St. Louis Region PCA to defer the cost. In addition, the state requires an annual $15 application / renewal fee for the Personalized / Special License Plates. All Specialty plates are personalized plates, and for those who currently have personalized plates, you will be able to transfer them to the Specialty PCA plates. Once our plate design has been approved, we will collect and submit the applications to the state. A check for the $15 state application / renewal fee will need to accompany your application. All of the initial applications will have to be submitted as a group. Additional plate requests, after the first run, will be submitted through your local license office.

Possible Resource & Interactive Site - Looks Interesting

We would very much appreciate if you could help us in your role as a PCA newsletter editor. We are launching a new Porsche-oriented on-line bulletin board and want your club members and readers to know about it. Our goal is to make it wonderful interactive forum for Porsche owners to share experiences and information. I am working with a number of people to launch an exciting and interactive new resource for Porsche owners and enthusiasts, especially PCA members. We would very much appreciate anything you can do to help spread the word. I am attaching a short press release if you have room to print it. I realize another Porsche bulletin board is no big deal as there are already several very good ones available. We are putting out the word for anyone interested in helping us running the bulletin board, which will include classified ads, product and book reviews, online photo albums and more. We could use some help adding magazine quality Porsche-related editorial to the site. (Many of the initial launch team members come from a successful print magazine background). This could include new and used car reviews, product reviews, step by step tech and install articles, maintenance, driving skills, race coverage, history and more. We feel this could lead to a balanced blend of experts reports and interactive enthusiasts reactions. I hope this sounds like something your regions' members would support. You and they can register at our web site,www.PorscheAndGear.com/forum_ (http://www.porscheandgear.com/forum and jump right in. We encourage everyone to look around and post there. And we'd very much like to hear any and all suggestions you might have about how we can improve the site - graphics, colors, forum choices - everything. We are looking for other enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to help us in this exciting venture.
